As Google continues to refine their approach to advertising on Google Maps, it is going to be interesting to see how the online and physical ad spaces blur. Coupons seem to be the choice to drive mobile and online traffic to physical world locations. While traditional outdoor seems to favor URLs, 800 numbers, shortcodes/premium SMS and Bluetooth to make this medium more measurable.
One of the more interesting pieces of outdoor creative was this giant “coupon” to leverage the now ubiquitous camera phone.
